Comprehensive solution to manage all HR challenges in one single place.
At OrangeHRM, we’re constantly advancing our HR solutions to meet evolving organizational needs and streamline human resource management. Version 7.15 of OrangeHRM introduces several valuable updates designed to address feedback from our users. This release focuses on specific enhancements in pay policy accuracy, employee management efficiency, leave selection improvements, and detailed request tracking.
These updates include the introduction of a Specific Day Pay Policy, integrated E-signature functionality for employee management documents, an enhanced Leave Type Selection Process, improved Request Desk capabilities, a WYSIWYG editor for training assessments, and bulk approvals within the Travel & Expense module. Here’s a closer look at each feature and how these updates make managing HR tasks smoother and more efficient.
The current pay policies in OrangeHRM didn’t provide an option to distinguish pay rates for Saturdays and Sundays, treating the weekend as a single non-working category. This limitation resulted in payroll inaccuracies, particularly for roles requiring weekend work, where Saturday and Sunday rates should vary. Previously, all weekend work was categorized at the same rate, failing to differentiate pay based on day-specific policies.
To address this, we’ve introduced a Specific Day Pay Policy that accurately reflects weekend pay differences. Now, Saturdays can be set to pay at 1.5 times the standard rate, while Sundays offer a rate of 2 times the base pay. This granular control over pay calculations allows HR and payroll administrators to manage compensation according to day-specific requirements, aligning pay with actual policy.
With the Specific Day Pay Policy in place, you can rest assured that payroll processing is more precise, eliminating errors tied to uniform weekend pay rates. This feature improves both HR administration and employee satisfaction by ensuring fair and accurate compensation based on the actual working day.
In the previous setup, the lack of integrated e-signature functionality in the Employee Management module created workflow inefficiencies. Without this feature, you had to rely on either printed documents or external tools for signature collection, which introduced delays, increased the risk of document mismanagement, and reduced productivity due to manual processing.
Our latest update brings a streamlined E-Signature solution to the Employee Management module, allowing employees and HR professionals to sign documents digitally. With this enhancement, you no longer need to work with third-party tools or printed documents, and all signatures are securely collected and stored within the system.
This digital transition means a faster, more efficient process for document approvals, reducing the time spent on physical or external signing. With the new E-Signature feature, you can expect quicker processing, fewer errors, and a better overall workflow that supports a fully paperless HR environment.
In previous versions, the default selection of leave types led to unintended choices by employees. Often, the first leave type option was inadvertently chosen, requiring HR teams to reject applications and employees to resubmit their requests with correct selections. This process created delays and unnecessary manual intervention.
In version 7.15, we’ve improved the Leave Type Selection Process by adjusting the default tile selection. This change makes it less likely that employees will accidentally choose the wrong leave type, significantly reducing the number of incorrect applications.
With fewer application errors, HR staff no longer need to frequently reject and correct leave applications. This enhancement ensures a more seamless approval process, reduces bottlenecks, and ultimately saves time for both HR personnel and employees.
The Request Desk has been upgraded to allow a more comprehensive transfer of job details in employee information requests. In addition to basic job fields, you can now transfer detailed information such as work schedules, EEO job categories, cost center data, FLSA exemption status, and comments. This added functionality allows HR teams to include all relevant details when managing job-related requests.
To further improve navigation, we’ve added more robust filtering options in the Request Desk. You can now filter requests based on employee status (active, inactive, or all), job title, sub-unit, as well as toggle between archived and active items. These filters apply across general, employee management, and hiring request lists, providing a more intuitive way to organize and review requests.
To optimize reporting efficiency, we’ve also removed outdated reports, such as “Request By Status,” “Request By Type,” and “Request By Priority.” The insights from these reports can now be generated through existing, more streamlined RD reports, allowing you to maintain effective data tracking without duplicating efforts.
Effective training is a cornerstone of employee development, and OrangeHRM’s Training module just received a significant upgrade to make learning experiences more engaging. In earlier versions, training assessments lacked the flexibility for adding rich content, limiting the types of questions you could ask and the overall experience for employees.
Our Training module now includes a WYSIWYG editor that enables administrators to create assessment questions enriched with rich content, such as images and tables. This tool allows you to enhance quizzes with visual and structured elements, which supports greater clarity and engagement in training assessments.
This feature empowers you to deliver a more dynamic training experience. Rich content in assessments can improve understanding and retention, helping employees better engage with the material and achieve more meaningful outcomes from their training.
The bulk approval feature in the Travel & Expense module allows admins to approve multiple expense claims at once, vastly improving efficiency in claim processing. Instead of addressing individual claims manually, you can now streamline the approval process, especially during high-volume periods.
We’ve also added a new claim report that includes detailed employee information, claim details, and final approval status. This report can be filtered by claim and employee specifics, giving you a straightforward view of expenses and claim status for better financial tracking.
